Kit and Tricia McDermott formed Klesis in 1991, although they have been involved in teaching and healing ministries since 1986. Before being called to full-time lay ministry, Tricia was self-employed as an artist, and worked as a professional chef. Kit began his career as a jazz musician, and also spent 10 years as a career counselor. The McDermott's are members of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Simsbury, Connecticut, where Kit is an ordained elder and Tricia is a member of the Prayer Team Ministry. They also direct the Center for Renewal, the retreat ministry of CPC. 
Kit holds a B.A. in Religion from Trinity College, and Tricia is certified as a Spiritual Director from the Spiritual Life Center at St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield, Connecticut. They live in Simsbury, with daughters Eslie , 18, and Alyn, 13. Their son, Dan, attends Berklee College of Music in Boston where he is majoring in music. |
